What this service is

We compose Chinese name suggestions for people who do not have one. You give us a first name, optionally a family name, a gender preference and a short description of yourself; we return three candidate names with an explanation of each.

It is a suggestion, not advice

A Chinese name can carry real social meaning, so we take accuracy seriously: every character and every quoted source is checked against the original classical texts, and the result is put through a second, automated review step before you see it. Be aware of what that step is: it is an AI review, not a human one, prompted to judge the names the way a native Chinese speaker would. It can be unavailable, and it can record a reservation about a name; when either happens we say so on the result page rather than hiding it.

The names are machine-generated and may be inaccurate or duplicated. The result is a suggestion.

Before we make a seal from an AI-generated name, a member of our team reviews its meaning, pronunciation, character use and suitability. If a correction is needed, we will contact you and agree on the change before carving. This review applies to a physical seal. The instant digital file is generated automatically and does not include human review. We will not change a physical production name without your agreement. This review is not legal, immigration or official naming advice.

If the name matters for something official (a visa, a legal document, a business registration, a school enrolment), verify it with a qualified translator or a Chinese speaker before you rely on it. We are not liable for decisions you make based on a name we suggested.

Using the service

Please do not:

• use the generator through automated requests, scraping or bulk submissions;
• attempt to bypass our abuse protections;
• submit other people's personal information without their permission;
• submit unlawful content, or content you do not have the right to share.

We may rate-limit or block access that breaks these rules.

Names and generated content

The name composed for you is yours to use — personally, professionally, and on any physical object you like. We claim no ownership over it and no fee for using it.

Note only that a name, in itself, is generally not something anyone can own exclusively. Another person may independently receive or already have the same name, and we cannot guarantee that a given name is unused in China or elsewhere.

Availability and changes

The generator is provided as-is. It depends on a third-party AI provider, so it can be slow, rate-limited, or temporarily unavailable. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service, including names and features, without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from your use of a name we suggested. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.

Privacy

What we collect and who processes it is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change affects you we will tell waiting-list members by email before it takes effect.
